BOZEMAN — In the current state of college basketball with COVID-19, each game is susceptible to being canceled or postponed. On Thursday, the Montana State women's basketball team announced that its home series against Idaho this weekend would be canceled due to the Vandals going through COVID-19 protocols within their program.

The two teams were scheduled to play a crucial two-game series at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on Thursday and Saturday.

Montana State is currently in third place in the Big Sky Conference, just behind Idaho in the conference standings. Montana State, which is 9-1 in its past 10 games, is currently 11-3 in Big Sky play (14-6 overall), while the Vandals are 13-3 in conference (14-6 overall). Idaho State is first in the Big Sky standings at 12-2 in league play (16-3 overall).

This weekend's games between MSU and Idaho will not be rescheduled.

Montana State is scheduled to finish the regular season at Sacramento State on March 3 and 5. The Big Sky Conference tournament begins March 8 in Boise, Idaho.
