Montana State Hockey entered the weekend series ranked fifth in the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Western Conference Rankings, and this weekend the Bobcats showed why they belong there. The Bobcats swept Western Washington University in both games, 9-1 on Friday and 9-4 on Saturday.

Britt Courneya had a hat trick on Friday with three goals. On Saturday, Ryan Padden would have a hat trick of his own, and Kody Thomas netted two more.

“Our offense was really clicking. It was great to see the systems the coaching staff put in place really come together and allowing us to take advantage of how fast we play,” said Thomas.

The Bobcats will next play in Utah’s Beehive College Hockey tournament next weekend.
