Montana State Bobcats golf finishes first day at Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colorado -- The Montana State golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of play at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Monday, Sept. 23, at Ptarmigan Country Club.

New Mexico State holds the team lead at 13-over 589. The Bobcats sit in 12th place with 631 strokes through 36 holes (314-317).

Senior Kelly Hooper was MSU's leading scorer on Monday as she's tied for 37th overall at 12-over-par 156. Senior Delaney Elliott and sophomore Hailey Oster are tied for 40th at 14-over 158. Sofia Rodriguez Todd is tied for 50th with a 159 and Coral Schulz is tied for 65th with a two-round score of 163.

Rodriguez Todd carded a team-high four birdies while Hooper recorded an MSU-best 22 pars. Oster shot a 77 in her first round and Hooper registered a 77 in her second round.

Dominique Galloway of New Mexico State shot a 4-under 68 second round and fired a first-day 143 to hold the individual lead.

The tournament field is slated to tee off at 9 a.m. on Tuesday for final round play.
