BOZEMAN — The Montana State women's basketball team kept its place atop the Big Sky Conference standings with an 89-85 double-overtime win over Eastern Washington Saturday in Cheney, Washington.

The Bobcats outscored the Eagles 23-14 in the fourth quarter to force the first overtime of the contest. But it would take an additional five minutes for MSU to secure the win.

MSU's leading scorer? Freshman Darian White, who dropped a game-high 23 points. White and head coach Tricia Binford met with the media earlier in the week, and Saturday’s performance was just simply practicing what they preached and executing when it mattered the most.

“Every day at practice, that's where it all has to come from. Obviously working hard every day at practice with my teammates. They push me to be better every day, I push them to be better every day," said White. "We want to make each other better to beat teams and hopefully win the Big Sky championship.”

“Darian is Darian. You know, I think she’s really quick to turn the page. That’s who she is," said Binford. "She’s a tough competitor and was hard on herself but so is the entire team.”

Montana State returns to Worthington Arena Thursday night to host Big Sky foe Weber State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
