MISSOULA — The Montana Grizzlies are now just two days away from their Week 6 Big Sky Conference football matchup with the Idaho State Bengals.
The Grizzlies have their fair share of impressive talent at the skill positions, from running back Marcus Knight to receivers Sammy Akem and Jerry Louie-McGee. The Bengals bring their own arsenal of offensive weapons week in and week out, as well.
ISU quarterback Matt Struck comes in tied for second in touchdown passes in the Big Sky Conference with 10. He also has the highest efficiency rating in the conference with 191.6 and only one interception on the year.
The Bengals' leading receiver, Tanner Connor, also leads the conference with five receiving touchdowns.
Heading into the Saturday matchup, Montana head coach Bobby Hauck knows the Bengals bring an array of guys who can get it in the end zone on any play.
"They really believe their offensive skill players to be the best in the league and maybe they are right. They are awfully good. He throws it up to them, he's accurate and they go make plays. If you look at it, you guys will get a chance to catch some of the Portland State highlights, but if you look at the way they were up on them big, like once they got it rolling it was unreal," said Hauck. "And then you can go back to, and this is more about their wide receivers, but you can go back to their game against Idaho last year or the first three quarters against Davis last year, they just lit people up. It's eye-opening."
The Bengals and Grizzlies are set to kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
