MISSOULA — Last year the Montana soccer team was riddled with injuries from concussions to torn ligaments.
The Grizzlies battled through those injuries and made a late-season push to win the Big Sky Conference title and get into the NCAA Tournament.
Head coach Chris Citowiki might have had something to do with that injury-free second half, but not in the most common way fans might think.
"Last year it was the curse of the tides and the injuries were so bad that when nobody was looking I came out here with my wife and she saged the entire field. So yeah, we got rid of all the evil spirits and what happened. Everything changed, there you go," said Citowicki.
