MISSOULA — The Montana Grizzlies signed six players to the soccer program from the Class of 2020 on Wednesday.

Headlining that group locally is Columbia Falls standout Josie Windauer. Windauer scored 33 goals this past season for the Wildkats, who made it to the semifinals of the Class A state tournament. That upped her school record of career goals to 83. Windauer also competes in basketball and track for Columbia Falls.

Windauer will make it three local Montanans on UM's roster next year, joining Alexa Coyle (Bozeman) and Quinn Peacock (Missoula).

Also joining the Grizzlies are Elizabeth Basile, of Renton, Washington; Reese Elliott of Blacklick, Ohio; Alejandra Melendez of Oakland, California; Meredith Udovich of Puyallup, Washington; and Camellia Xu of Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Udovich will play in the High School All-American Game early next month in Orlando, Florida. Elliott competes for the elite IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida while Xu competes with the Vancouver Whitecaps Girls Elite program, which was established in 2015 to find western Canada's top prospects. Basile competes for the Washington Premier Football Club and Melendez played for a Bishop O'Dowd team that went 10-0-0 a few years back with no goals allowed.

Montana did not have a senior on its 2019 roster as the Grizzlies won the regular-season championship with a 6-0-3 record in the Big Sky Conference. The Grizzlies fell to Northern Colorado in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
