LAS VEGAS– Earlier this week, Josh Huestis announced he would sign with the German basketball club Bayern Munich. On Friday, MTN Sports caught up with Huestis, who said although it’s not the NBA, he’s excited for the opportunity. Huestis leaves for Germany in mid-August, with practice starting on the 21st.
On Thursday, the club signed another former NBA player in Greg Monroe, who started last season with the Toronto Raptors before bouncing around the league, eventually being cut. Huestis said he doesn’t know much German, so it’ll be nice to have a fellow American with NBA experience on the roster as he continues his career.
“This isn’t the path that I thought that I would take in my career when I first started, but it’s where I’m at and I’m really excited about that because I think it’s an awesome opportunity,” Huestis said, adding that Bayern Munich is an “extremely prestigious club. It’s an honor to be a part of it, definitely one of the best in all of Europe.”
