MISSOULA -- Baseball is back in the Treasure State.
On Thursday the Missoula Mavericks and Helena Senators Class AA teams will play the first live sporting event in the state since COVID-19 shut down end-of-the-season tournaments and the spring sporting seasons for the NCAA and high schools.
Thursday's game is just the beginning, though, as the Mavs announced they'll be moving forward with the annual Memorial Day tournament. However, the Mavs did not get Missoula County approval, so the AA teams will play at Heroes Park in Bozeman and the Class A teams will play at the Bitterroot Bucs' field in Florence.
The annual Missoula Mavs Memorial Day Tournament is on for 2020! This year's just a little different with it in split locations. #mtscores

"Definitely excited to play," said Mavs AA coach Brent Hathaway. "Disappointed that we couldn't play it in our hometown."
The tournament will begin on Friday and conclude with the championship games being played on Monday at 5 p.m.
