HELENA – For the fifth consecutive year Great Clips hair salons of Montana will host a ‘cut-a-thon’ in memory of late Great Falls teen Sam Kolve.

Kolve passed away in 2011 at age 16, losing a battle with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Sam’s parents, Marge and Glen, created the Sam’s Hope Foundation with dreams of helping families in similar situations with financial needs. The Kolve family built up more than $750,000 worth of bills during trips to Denver and other hospitals around the northwest.

Great Clips salons in Butte, Bozeman, Great Falls and Helena will donate $1 from every hair cut on Saturday, Sept. 28 in hopes of helping other area children in similar situations.

For more information about Sam’s Hope Foundation, contact Marge Kolve at 406-362-4460. The Kolve family would like to give a special thanks to Kyle Eckmann and Great Clips stylists.
