HELENA — Another round, another score atop the leaderboard for Bozeman golfer Tom White.

The 2018 Montana Men’s State Seniors Championship concluded Day 2 on Wednesday, with White holding steady at No. 1 among the 300-plus golfers in the field. White opened a four-stroke lead after Tuesday’s first round, and extended that advantage to a five-stroke lead after Wednesday. After opening the tournament with a 67, White managed a 68 on Wednesday and holds a 135-140 advantage over second-place Mike Majors of Helena.

Craig Hurlbert of Rollins sits in third place with a two-day total of 141. Anaconda’s Gene Walsh is fourth at 144, while Lee Levine of Bozeman is currently fifth with a 145.

Golfers are split into four age divisions — freshman, sophomore, junior and senior — and compete for titles in those divisions, as well as the overall Montana Men’s State Seniors Championship, which will be handed out on Thursday at Green Meadow Country Club. GMCC, Bill Roberts Golf Course and Fox Ridge Golf Course have hosted the 2018 event.

White and Majors lead the freshman and sophomore divisions, respectively, while Helena’s James Mullins’ score of 148 sits No. 1 in the junior division and Belgrade’s Everett Egbert leads the senior division with a 159.
