Great Falls Chargers break out bats, defeat Missoula Mavericks 10-3

GREAT FALLS — Travis Stauter led off back-to-back innings with doubles and the Great Falls Chargers scored a combined seven runs in those innings to defeat the Missoula Mavericks, 10-3, in American Legion Baseball action at Centene Stadium on Friday.

Missoula took an early 2-0 lead, but Great Falls put up five runs in the bottom of the fourth, an inning where all nine Chargers came up to bat.

Braden Hirst pitched six innings of two-run ball for Great Falls and added a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth. Drew Stensrud drove in a run and scored one for Missoula. Great Falls’ record jumps to 5-11 in conference play, while Missoula is now 12-3.

The teams continue the three-game series on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
