Great Falls Chargers drop doubleheader to Lethbridge as Elks complete sweep

GREAT FALLS– The Great Falls Chargers got the tying run to second in the bottom of the seventh, but they could not capitalize as they fell to the Lethbridge Elks 3-2 at Centene Stadium on Saturday.

The game was the first of a doubleheader.

Lethbridge starting pitcher Nathan Reiter gave up no runs and racked up nine strikeouts in six innings pitched.

Great Falls scored its two runs in the bottom of the seventh when Travis Stauter hit a dribbler back to Noah Wauters, who threw wide of first. Hunter Houck and Logan Huston came in to score.

Great Falls lost 7-5 in the second game, locking up a sweep for Lethbridge. The Chargers have the day off Sunday before traveling for single game against the Billings Royals on Monday at 3 p.m.
