MISSOULA — After dark clouds passed over Missoula in the hours leading up to game time, it ended up being a pleasant night at Ogren Park for a Pioneer League Baseball game between the Osprey and visiting Billings Mustangs.

The first six innings of the game were a pitchers’ duel with Billings’ Miguel Madrano pitching a perfect game through the first three innings and Missoula’s Eddie Martinez giving up just one earned run through five innings of work.

After six innings both teams managed to put two runs on the board each, with a homer from each team. In the eighth inning, the Mustangs broke through for four runs, starting with an RBI double from Claudio Finol. The Mustangs took a 6-3 lead headed into the bottom of the eighth.

In the bottom of that inning, the Osprey got two runners on but failed to bring any home. The Mustangs got the 6-3 win to take the rubber match in the three-game series.
