KALISPELL – The Montana-Alberta American Legion Baseball Class AA state tournament began Saturday in Kalispell.

GREAT FALLS CHARGERS VS. BOZEMAN BUCKS- In the first game the eighth seed Great Falls Chargers took on the one seed Bozeman Bucks. Scoring was held in check through the first four innings until Great Falls scored three in the fifth followed by three runs from Bozeman in the bottom of that inning. The Chargers held on to a one-run lead through the last two innings and took the win 6-5.

MISSOULA MAVERICKS VS. BILLINGS SCARLETTS – In the second game it was the five seed Missoula Mavs taking on the four seed Billings Scarlets. The Scarlets came out swinging picking up four runs in the first inning. They conceded two runs to the Mavs in the third inning but shut them out the rest of the game. Billings picked up another three runs in the fourth inning and won the game 10-2.

LETHBRIDGE ELKS VS. BILLINGS ROYALS – In the third, and most exciting game it was Billings who came out on top. Lethbridge pitcher, Levi Abbott was incredible he took a no-hitter into the fifth inning with 6 strikeouts. But after he gave up a hit the wheels fell off, Abbott gave up a few singles and Lethbridge rallied to score six runs in the bottom half of the seventh and win on a walk-off infield single, 6-5.

KALISPELL LAKERS VS. HELENA SENATORS – In the final game of the day it was the host team and second seed Lakers taking on the seven seed Helena Senators. The game started out slow and stayed that way as it was a pitcher dual. Sam Elliot for the Lakers and Brett Jacobs for the Senators. Each pitcher went deep into the game. Elliot came away with the win as the Lakers topped the Senators 3-2.
