BUTTE – The 13th annual Butte 100 started Saturday, welcoming in over 350 bikers from all parts of the country to test their endurance in one of the most coveted bike races in North America.

The event offers three different races, the Butte 100 mile race, the Butte 50 mile race and the Sorini 25 mile race to showcase different levels of biking talents. Butte chamber of Commerce director and race volunteer Stephanie Sorini hopes that the Butte 100 event offers a once in a lifetime experience of the Butte community.

“I hope they walk away with an incredible experience. I feel that they are going to walk away thinking that race was awesome,” says Sorini. “And most importantly that this community that supports this race is pretty awesome and we want to go back there. So we truly have so much to offer people that come in from out of state and we want to share that with them. We really do have the best backyard.”
