ANACONDA — The annual Goosetown adult softball tournament starts Friday in Anaconda and Butte. The three-day tournament is in its 46th year and still brings in top talent from Oregon, Utah, Washington and all across the Northwest U.S. to compete with Montana’s best.
Tournament director Bill Hill says the tournament gives outsiders a good glimpse into the other side of recreational activities that both cities offer.
“I look at Goosetown as a wonderful way to showcase what we have to offer in Anaconda,” said Hill. “We have a wonderful community, we have the wilderness right on our door, we have the Georgetown Lake, outstanding recreational area. So when you’re bringing in people from Kennewick and Seattle, they don’t have those things right outside their back door. So it’s an opportunity to showcase both cities with recreational values.”
