MISSOULA — John Bannon scored the opening goal and Bill Lucas added the go-ahead and eventual game-winner as the Missoula Jr. Bruins evened their Fraser Cup playoff series against the Helena Bighorns with a 2-1 victory in Game 2 on Friday evening.

Bannon’s goal was the lone scored in the first period, as the Bruins held a 1-0 advantage entering the third period. Abraham Laggis tied the game early in the final stanza, but Lucas’ goal, which was assisted by Misha Akatnov and Jim Seielstad, clinched the game and kept the season alive for Missoula.

The series, a best-of-three, shifts back to Helena on Saturday evening with the puck scheduled to drop at 7:05 p.m. The winner of Saturday’s contest advances to the second round.
