MISSOULA – In October, Missoula resident Sue Huse won the Ironman Taiwan triathlon race.

Huse finished with her first-ever triathlon title in a time of 8 hours, 25 minutes, 3 seconds. The win not only gave her a memorable race but qualified her for the world Ironman race coming up next October in Kona, Hawaii.

Huse says she wants to finish in the top half but, for now, is just enjoying the recent win.

“It was a really emotional win in terms of, I have never won before. I had a lot of personal things going on at the time with family, so it meant a lot,” Huse said. “There are not as many pro triathletes my age, so to get this win and be able to compete next October at World Championships at 45 is a pretty cool thing,” said Huse.
