MISSOULA – The Pioneer League announced that Missoula Osprey starting pitcher Marcos Tineo has been named the league’s Pitcher of the Week during July 9-15. The honor is the first for a member of the Osprey this season.

In one start, Tineo delivered a stellar outing in Idaho Falls, holding the leagues second-highest scoring offense to two hits and no earned runs. The right-hander tossed six innings with three strikeouts and no walks in his strongest start of the season.

On the year, Tineo owns a 1-1 record with a 1.67 ERA, the second-best in the Pioneer League. The 21-year-old has made five starts and logged 27 innings with 17 strikeouts and five walks. Tineo has pitched at least five innings in each start, and has hurled six frames the past two outings.

Tineo is the first Osprey player to earn a weekly Pioneer League honor since Eduardo Diaz was named the league’s best player for the week of July 3-9 in 2017.

Tineo and the Osprey return to action Wednesday night in Missoula vs. the Ogden Raptors to open a seven-game homestand.
