BOZEMAN — The members of the Bozeman Swim Club are ready to host another year of the Montana Long Course State Championship Meet. As one of the only 50-meter indoor pools in the state, it is rare that the meet isn’t held in Bozeman.

The races will run July 13-15 and will feature some of Montana’s best swimmers.

In addition to the races, there will be awards given out, such as athlete of the year and most team spirit, one Bozeman hopes to have in the bag. The Barracudas take the home-pool advantage to heart, and head coach Josh Harris is looking for his team to come out on top.

“You get kids from across the entire state, about 302 kids have qualified for the meet and they come and compete and see who holds the Montana crown,” Harris said. “But it’s cool having a home-field advantage. We just bought a bunch of banners, it’s going to decorate the whole back wall, it blues everything out.”

“Pretty exciting, with the 302 kids you also have all their families so it’s a pretty big meet. The deck is packed and the intensity is exciting but also draining,” Harris added.
