5 Olympians to host State Games Track & Field camp

BILLINGS – For the second year, world record setter and three-time Olympic triple jumper Willie Banks will lead the State Games World Record Track & Field Camp on Friday, July 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Billings West High School.

The camp features Banks, along with four other Olympians and two elite coaches including Mike Powell – World Record Holder and two-time Olympic Silver Medalist (Long Jump), Dick Fosbury- Olympic Gold Medalist (High Jump), Tom Pukstys- American Record Holder and two-time Olympian (Javelin), Byron Robinson – Rio Olympian (Hurdles), Gregg Simmons – Speed and Performance Specialist, and Dave Nielsen – Eastern Washington Jumps Coach and former Idaho State University head coach.

The entry fee is $135.00 (includes camp and BSSG Track and Field registration). The coaches’ fee is $50.00 or is free if at least coach’s athletes attend. Register at bigskygames.org under Track & Field. Registration for the camp closes July 11.

Powell will also speak and light the Big Sky State Games Cauldron at Opening Ceremonies of the Games Friday evening, July 20, at Wendy’s Field at Daylis Stadium.
