MISSOULA – In 2014 tax payers approved a county bond that funded the expansion of Fort Missoula Regional Park, and today the softball complex had its grand opening.
Over 1,000 people attended to event to watch hundreds of softball players from all ages and levels compete on the new fields.
The night began with a free community picnic followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and a wide range of softball games that followed — everything from firemen vs. police to Junior Olympic fast pitch.
Chairman of the grand opening committee Rod Harsell says the new fields open a rare opportunity to showcase softball on every level in Missoula.
