GREAT FALLS – The fans certainly got their money’s worth for opening day of the Pioneer League baseball season at Centene Stadium, where the Great Falls Voyagers hosted the Helena Brewers. The Brewers got out to a fast start behind the strong pitching of Max Lazar and led 5-0 after six innings, but the Voyagers made quite the comeback, reeling off five runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score.
In the bottom of the ninth, a walkoff single by Ian Dawkins completed the Great Falls comeback in a stunning 6-5 victory on opening day. The two teams will now head to Helena for a two-game series June 16-17, with the first pitch on Saturday scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
