Billings Royals sweep Helena Senators as Scarlets await

HELENA – Nobody can stop the Billings Royals right now.

The Royals swept a road double-header Sunday, beating the Helena Senators 10-4 in game one and 7-3 in game two to run their record to 14-1 on the season.

Carson Klompien was 2-4 with a double, triple, and four RBI’s in the opener. Brooks Zimmer struck out nine batters in five innings, allowing three runs as he picked up the win.

Cade Torgerson got the win in game two, falling one out shy of a complete game. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up three runs and also struck out nine. Jarret Leinwand was 2-4 with a homerun and a double, while driving in two runs.

The Royals play their first games with the crosstown rival Billings Scarlets Friday and Saturday. First pitch is schedule for 7:00 p.m. each night at Dehler Park.
