BILLINGS – Cade Torgerson struck out 11 Missoula Mavericks in six shutout innings Sunday to help the Billings Royals to a 4-0 win, moving the team to 10-1 on the young season.
Torgerson gave up just three singles, and Chandler Callicott pitched a 1-2-3 seventh for the save.
Cole Miller was 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Royals, while Michael Morehead also drove in a run.
The win is the Royals’ seventh straight. They return to action next weekend with four road games. Billings will play Spearfish, S.D. and Gillette, Wyoming in Gillette on Saturday, and then will travel to Helena for a doubleheader with the Senators on Sunday.
