HELENA – The storm clouds in the distance were hard to ignore Wednesday night, but the Missoula Mavericks and Helena Senators still tried to squeeze in a American Legion Baseball game in the Capital City before the rain.

The teams played four innings with Helena taking the 5-4 lead before lightning caused officials to call the game.

Ty McGurran and Riley Chisholm had two RBI each for the Senators followed by Andrew Rosston with one. Hunter Sickerson went all four innings on the mound for the home team, giving up four runs on eight hits.

For the Mavericks, Tradd Richardson, Sam Bucy and Dylan Chalmers each had one RBI. Dane Fraser went three innings and gave up five runs on nine hits.

The game will not be made up or restarted from the fourth inning, but instead will start over May 16 when the two teams play again in Missoula.
