Registration under way for Big Sky State Games

Billings – Registration is open for the 33rd Annual Big Sky State Games.

Most sports fall on the weekend of July 20-22 in Billings. This Olympic-style multi-sport festival for participants of all ages and skill levels draws 10,000 competitors each year. Elite, junior, senior and recreational athletes compete for medals in 36 sports.

Online registration is available at bigskygames.org along with complete registration information, accommodation information and event details.

The majority of the sports offered by the Big Sky State Games have a July 5 registration and T-shirt deadline. Early sign up is encouraged and ensures the best price.

Regional qualifying tournaments for Scholastic Volleyball Divisions (Grades 9-12) will be held: June 22 in Helena and July 6 in Billings. Scholastic Volleyball entries close June 7 for Helena and June 21 for Billings. The Scholastic Volleyball (Grades 9-12) Finals will be in Billings on July 7.

Events falling outside of main State Games weekend:

  • Shooting 5 -Stand, June 2, at Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex.
  • Shooting Sport Clays, June 2, at Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex.
  • Scholastic Volleyball (Grades 9-12) qualifying tournaments are July 6 in Billings at Senior High School and Billings Central High School, and June 22 in Helena at Helena High School.
  • Scholastic Volleyball Finals (Grades 9-12) July 7, Billings MT.
  • Swimming/Open Water, June 17, at Lake Elmo State Park
  • Swimming- June 29, 30, & July 1, at Rocky Mountain College, Fortin Center.
  • Billiards, July 14, at Eagles Lodge for Adult and Boys and Girls Club for Youth.
  • Equestrian- Jumping and Dressage, July 14-15, at White Aspen Ranch
  • Summer Biathlon and Mountain Bike Biathlon July 15 at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center. Summer Biathlon 10:00 a.m., Mountain Bike Biathlon is 1:30 p.m.
  • Golf Juniors Individual, July 16, at Lake Hills Golf Course.
  • Shooting Cowboy Action Shooting July 28 at the Billings Rod and Gun Club starting at 8:00 a.m.
  • Fencing will be September 1-3 at the Missoula Fencing Association in Missoula.
  • Shooting Action Shooting Sports (Pistol/.22 Rifle) June 2-3, at Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex.
  • Skeet Shooting (non-registered) June 3, Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex in Billings.

Events outside of Billings during Big Sky State Games weekend:
