MISSOULA — The Billings Scarlets traveled to Missoula Sunday afternoon to take on the Missoula Mavericks in a doubleheader.
In the first game, the Scarlets came out hot, scoring three runs in the first two innings. But the Mavs got going and scored seven in the third inning alone. Just when it looked over, the Scarlets grabbed six runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh to tie it at 10. In extra innings the Scarlets scored two for a 12-10 win in eight innings.
There was no shortage of runs in the second game, either. The Scarlets led for a majority of the game, but eventually the Mavs’ bats came alive for a 9-7 win.
