CHICAGO – Bailey Finn is a national Hoop Shoot champion once again, and this time she has hometown company.

Finn made 24 of 25 free throws to win the Girls 12-13 Elks Hoop Shoot National Championship Saturday in Chicago, while fellow Big Timber native Kameryn Ketcham made 23 of 25 to win the Girls 10-11 division.

This is Finn’s second hoop shoot national title – she won the Girls 8-9 division in 2014, also making 24 of 25. Finn made all 10 in the first round Saturday, before finishing 14-15 in the second round to win by two.

Ketcham missed two of her first 10 shots, but hit all 15 in the second round to go from third to first.

Two Bozeman boys also competed at nationals. Fischer Brown finished tied for fourth in the 12-13 division after making 23 of 25, just one shot behind a three-way tie at the top. Brown finished sixth in the 10-11 division in 2017.

Will Benne also finished tied for fourth Saturday in the 8-9 division, making 23 of 25, also one shot out of the first-place shoot-off.

Seventy-two kids competed at nationals – 12 winners from each region around the country in each of the six groups.
