BILLINGS – Former Billings West High football player Dylan Donahue has been charged with DWI and reckless driving after a head-on collision early Monday morning in the New York-New Jersey area.

Port Authority Police say Donahue was drunk when he drove the wrong way through the Lincoln Tunnel and collided head-on with a bus, injuring four people.

A photo from the Port Authority Police Department shows severe damage to the front bumper and hood of Donahue’s green Dodge Charger Hellcat. The front seat airbags had also deployed.

Police say an officer saw Donahue drive around traffic cones and the wrong way entering a center tube to the tunnel. The police report says Donahue failed both a sobriety test and breathalyzer test before being placed under arrest. Authorities said Donahue blew a .15 which is nearly twice the legal limit.

A 21-year-old was in the passenger seat of Donahue’s car and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Eastern Time Monday morning. The four bus passengers were treated at a hospital for minor injuries according to the report, which also he said Donahue and his passenger apparently were not injured.

Donahue is a 2011 graduate of West High. The linebacker was a fifth-round pick in last year’s NFL Draft and played four games before suffering a season-ending elbow injury.

Donahue is due in court March 13.

The Jets, in a release, said they are aware of the situation but have no further comment.
