ARLINGTON, Texas – 2017 PBR world champion Jess Lockwood added another impressive line to his resume Sunday.

The 20-year-old from Volborg won The American rodeo, the richest one-day rodeo in the world, inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Lockwood scored 90 points aboard More Big Bucks in the short-go, edging 2016 PBR world champ Cooper Davis by half a point.

Lockwood was second behind Davis in the opening round with an 88.5-point ride. Davis scored 89.25 to take the lead going into the Final Four, but the scores reset for a one-ride championship. Most rodeos add up a competitor’s cumulative total.

Lockwood earned $100,000 for the win. He also rode More Big Bucks at the 2017 PBR World Finals, to 90.25 points.

Stormy Wing and J.B. Mauney also advanced to the finals, but both were bucked off in the championship round.
