SAN ANTONIO, Tex. – Huntley’s Brady Tryan and team roping partner Nano Garza are second in bracket two at the San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo after round two Sunday.

Tryan and Garza won $1,486 each after a 5.4 second run.

Rusty Wright, from Milford, Utah, is the high money winner in saddle bronc so far with one more round to go. Wright split the win in the first round with the 2016 world champion, Zeke Thurston, from Big Valley, Alberta. Then on Sunday afternoon, he was the lone man at the top of the leaderboard after scoring 86 points on Harry Vold Rodeo’s horse named Happy Valley. A horse that bucked Rusty’s father, Cody Wright, off in San Antonio last year.

The Wright family has become the first family of saddle bronc riding. Cody has won two world championships. His brothers Jesse and Spencer each have one. And, just last December at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), Rusty’s younger brother, Ryder, won his own gold buckle. Cody and his two sons travel together and while Cody isn’t competing here, Ryder is. He finished in a tie for second place on Sunday and he and Rusty are hoping to be competing together at the Semifinals.

There is a tie at the top of the leaderboard in barrel racing in Bracket 2. Ivy Conrado, from Hudson, Colorado, won here on Sunday riding her palomino mare, KN Fabs Gift of Fame. They stopped the clock in 14.04 seconds, the fastest time of this bracket. Conrado finished second on Saturday night behind Fort Worth, Texas, resident Tillar Murray, who was second Sunday afternoon. They each have already earned, $4,162 here. Monday night’s performance will determine who is the high-money earner in this bracket.

While the temperatures in San Antonio are near freezing, the weather was still better here than it was at Ty Breuer’s home in Mandan, N.D. Breuer competed in the bareback riding at the NFR last December for the third time, shortly after the birth of his daughter. While it is hard to be away from his family, he got to call with good news this weekend. He won the round on Saturday night and finished second behind Wyoming’s Seth Hardwick on Sunday. Breuer is in the lead in the money standings with $4,162.

Round three of Bracket 2 will start at 7 p.m. on Monday. That competition will determine the top four money earners in each event who will advance to the Semifinals.
