MISSOULA – The Missoula Bruins fell behind in only 19 seconds versus the Helena Bighorns on Friday night. Just a few minutes later they fell behind 2-0.
But after the early struggles, the Bruins couldn’t be stopped.
Missoula scored five straight goals to come back and beat the second-place Bighorns 5-2. Misha Akatnov and Vadim Zubkov each scored a pair of goals, and Brian Thomas saved 51 shots to keep the Bighorns out of the net after their fast start.
The fifth-place Bruins need every point they can get right now, as they try to move up to a top-four spot in the standings and a spot in the playoffs.
The same two teams play in Missoula again Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
