GLENDIVE – 5’7 shooting guard Alexius Foster of Tacoma, Washignton has been selected to represent Dawson Community College as one of the Top 40 Student-Athletes to participate in the 10th Annual NJCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Weekend. The All-Star Weekend this year will be held July 26-29 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Weekend will have a mandatory meeting and orientation, practices and games along with some entertainment. The set dates also coincide with the July recruiting period for 4-year college coaches to attend and evaluate.
Top 40 participants were selected representing all three NJCAA Divisions. There are a total of 469 schools members in the NJCAA. Dawson competes at the division 1 level.

Foster had an outstanding freshman season accumulating many accolades throughout the 2018 season. She was awarded Mon-Dak Most Valuable Player, NJCAA Region 13 Player of the Year, NJCAA Region 13 All-Region, two-time Player of the Week and NJCAA 3rd Team All-American. Foster also led the Mon-Dak in scoring with 18 ppg and was fifth in 3-point shooting percentage. In the NJCAA, she was nationally ranked #24 in scoring average and #8 in most points scored with 574.

Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. commented, “What another great honor for one of our Lady Bucs to participate in. It’s such a great representation, not only for Alexius, but for Dawson as well. I hope she does well in Atlanta, allowing her to showcase her skills on a national level. This will be the second player DCC has had in the All-Star games in two years. There’s a lot of success here within our athletic department and campus, and truly God has blessed this institution in many ways.”
