Alexis Foster named NJCAA All-America for Dawson Community College

GLENDIVE – Once again, Alexius Foster of Dawson Community College Women’s Basketball has been recognized with another achievement on a national stage. Foster was named to the 2018 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball All-American 3rd Team. 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams are comprised of 10 players each and honorable mention consists of 20. Foster’s accolade was among thousands of players who play among 188 teams that compete at the NJCAA Division 1 level.

The 5’7 guard from Tacoma, Washington has also been named NJCAA All-Region and Player of the Year and MVP of the Mon-Dak Conference. Foster led her Dawson team in scoring, 3-point percentage and points. She averaged 18ppg, tying for first in the Mon-Dak, shooting 44% from the field, and 34% from the 3-point line, which placed her #5 in conference standings. In her freshman debut, she led the conference in points, totaling 574.

Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. said, “Alexius is well deserving of these achievements. She and I had discussions prior to her college participation in basketball as a freshman. And we both had goals of having Alexius in position to play on a well-rounded team that allowed her to perform the way she’s capable of producing. The plan now is to have a major impact again her sophomore season.”
