BILLINGS – More rain and snow in the weekend forecast has relocated this weekend’s Great Northwest Athletic Conference baseball series, as Montana State University Billings will now play Northwest Nazarene in a four-game series at Vail Baseball Field in Nampa, Idaho.

Doubleheaders are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday, and live video with play-by-play commentary and live statistics will be available for all four games through MSUB’s Stretch Internet portal online here.

Though the games will count as road contests for MSUB, the Yellowjackets will play as the home team in all four games and bat second.

After last weekend’s series against Western Oregon University was canceled, this will be the Yellowjackets’ ninth straight series away from home. MSUB enters the week in first place in the GNAC standings, with an overall record of 19-11 and a conference mark of 14-6.

This will be the second trip of the season to Nampa for the ‘Jackets, who took 3 of 4 games from the Nighthawks on March 23-24.

MSUB is scheduled for home series at Dehler Park each of the next three weeks to close out the regular season. The ‘Jackets are in prime position to return to the GNAC Championships for the fourth straight season, and would earn a berth into the tournament with a top-four finish in the regular-season standings.

Northwest Nazarene enters this weekend’s series with an overall record of 12-22, and is in fifth place in the conference standings with a league record of 10-14. The Nighthawks are coming off a series split against Saint Martin’s University last week at home, where they hold an overall record of 5-11 in 16 games at Vail Field.
