BILLINGS -- Yellowstone County Health Officer John Felton will answer questions from the public live on Facebook Monday about his recent order banning fans from school sports events.

The forum will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24 and stream live on the Facebook pages of Q2, KULR8 and the Billings Gazette, the area's three largest media outlets.

“There have been a lot of questions and comments about my Health Officer Order for fall athletics and activities,” Felton said Friday in a media release. “I want to be able to address these concerns while helping the public understand the decision making process and the considerations that went into the plan for high school and middle school athletics and associated activities. I am looking forward to a respectful discussion.”

Earlier this week, Felton issued the order, citing rising COVID-19 cases and positivity rates. Cheerleaders, pep band members and other students supporting athletics are allowed in, along with members of the media.

Send questions for Felton to answer to sportsplan@riverstonehealth.org. The deadline to submit is noon Monday.
