MISSOULA – Missoula Sentinel took care of business in a final wrestling dual before Christmas break Tuesday night. The Spartans handled Kalispell Flathead, 48-25.
Flathead, the two-time defending Class AA state champion, did not bring all of its varsity squad to Missoula for the dual, but Ross Calhoon and Aydan Prieto picked up early wins at 205 and 285 pounds. A walk-over at 103 pounds added to an early Braves lead.
But other than that, Sentinel won nearly every dual on the evening. Reese Rahn at 182 pounds and Bryson Danziner at 113 each finished off pins early in the first round.
Sentinel will next compete in a dual at Bozeman on Thursday, Jan. 3. Many of Flathead’s top wrestlers compete in the Best of the West Individual Tournament in Pasco, Wash. on Friday and Saturday.
