GLASGOW — Defending team champions Colstrip and Circle remain atop the Class B and C wrestling polls, respectively, according to the latest results of the weekly B-C poll.
Colstrip, which scored 196 points to win the Class B state title last February, sits ahead of fellow program powers Glasgow and Eureka. Townsend and Cut Bank round out the top five in the Class B team poll.
Circle dominated the Class C team race last season, nearly doubling up runner-up Chinook. The Wildcats return state placers Trey Taylor (second place at 138 pounds) and Krayle Stormer (third at 103). Each is top-ranked in the weekly poll.
Valier and Chinook were ranked Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
Colstrip boasts five top-ranked wrestlers, including defending state champions Nakoda Siegel, Ty Bradley and Jackson Currier. Currier is one of three wrestlers aiming for a fourth consecutive state championship this winter. Cody Blaede and Trey Yates also rank No. 1 in their respective weight classes.
Forsyth’s Michael Weber, another of the four-time hopefuls, is ahead of Colstrip’s Rylin Burns at 152 pounds. Weber’s 120-pound teammate Camron Reilly, who won the 103-pound title a season ago, is ranked first at 120 pounds.
Eureka, the 2017 Class B champion, saw Kyle Durden (126 pounds) and Nathan Schmidt (132 pounds) ranked No. 1, while Tanner Cook of Shepherd and Spencer Jones of Florence were top-ranked at 113 and 205 pounds, respectively.
