CHURCHILL – The Western C Divisional crown is staying right where it is as the Manhattan Christian Eagles defeated Ennis 3-1 on their home floor Friday evening to claim the tournament championship.

Ennis defeated Gardiner 3-1 early on Friday morning to advance to the title game against the Eagles. The Mustangs carried that momentum in the first game of the championship match, taking down
Manhattan Christian 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 14-25, 25-14). Ennis senior Jourdain Klein slammed 22 kills, a team-high, while also leading the Mustangs in blocks (7).

But since this tournament is double-elimination, Ennis and Manhattan Christian squared off once more on Friday night for a winner-take-all match for the Western C Divisional title. But the Eagles buckled down and defeated the Mustangs 3-1, in an identical fashion as the first championship match (25-21, 25-16, 14-25, 25-14).

By making it to the divisional title game, both Manhattan Christian and Ennis earn a spot in the state tournament being played at Montana State University beginning Thursday Nov. 9 inside the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
