BUTTE – Bozeman went on the road to Class AA rival Butte High for the teams’ second meeting on the volleyball court this year.

Bozeman came out strong in the first set. Sasha Hathaway was absolutely lethal for the Hawks, and Butte struggled early to find an answer. But Devin Amtmann found the answer for the Bulldogs where she would serve for seven straight points, including a pair of aces, that would help start to build the Bulldogs’ nine-point lead in the first set. Emma Field and Kennadie McMahon proved to be huge for Butte in front of the net, blocking Bozeman shots left and right.

The Hawks clawed their way back into the first set, and, in fitting fashion, Hathaway delivered a huge spike for 26-24 first-set win.

Butte went onto win the second set 27-25 and the third 27-25, but Bozeman would tie it up by winning the fourth set 33-31. The Hawks clinched the match with a 15-10 win in Set 5.
