MISSOULA – Sixteen teams traveled to Missoula on Thursday to begin the Missoula Volleyball Invite and Friday, after more than 120 sets in total were played, a champion was crowned.
In the championship game, it was Helena Capital taking on Corvallis. In the first set, Corvallis came out to a great start winning seven of the first 10 points. But Capital came roaring back and ended up taking the first set by a slim margin. In the second set, Corvallis kept it close the entire time, but Capital came on late to win the second set and win the entire tournament.
In the third-place game, it was Libby taking on Kalispell Flathead. In the first set Libby dominated en route to an opening win. In the second set, Flathead took the reins and controlled the set. In the third, it was closer than the first two, but Flathead took the final three points to secure the third-place victory.
