CHURCHILL – The Manhattan Tigers outlasted 15 teams to win the championship over Red Lodge, 2-1, at the Manhattan Christian Volleyball Invitational in Churchill on Saturday. The tournament featured 13 teams from across the state from Classes B and C, as well as two junior-varsity and sophomore squads.
The tournament was made up of 30 one-set games in the initial round-robin format. Teams were then seeded into a bracket. Manhattan squared off against rival and host Manhattan Christian in the semifinals, defeating the Eagles narrowly 25-23.
Manhattan then went on to take down the Red Lodge Rams 25-21, 26-28, 15-11.
