BILLINGS – Second-year coach Monica Grimsrud watched her Billings West team make quick work of Bozeman Thursday with a straight-game sweep at home.
The Bears opened the regular season with a 25-18 win in Game 1 before holding off the Hawks by identical 25-22 scores to close out the night.
West turned in 31 kills, led by Madeline Dawson with nine. Tayler Larsen led West with 16 assists. Kinzee Koch finished with 21 digs.
Bozeman (1-2, 0-1) was led by Savanna Gara and Sasha Hathaway with five kills apiece. Cassie Rosa had 22 assists.
