GREAT FALLS — The Fort Benton girls and boys track teams each took home championship trophies at the Northern C divisional meet at Memorial Stadium in Great Falls on Thursday. It was the fourth divisional title in a row for the Longhorn girls.
The Fort Benton girls scored 125.5 points, followed by Belt at 86 and Simms at 48. On the boys side, Fort Benton scored 127 points. Belt took second at 63, and Great Falls Central scored 52 for third.
Leah Gannon led the Fort Benton girls with a first-place finish in the long jump and third-place finish in the 400- and 800-meter dashes. Nicole Axtman added a first-place finish in the triple jump, and both relay teams took first, as well.
For the Longhorn boys, Billy Ullery won the 200-meter dash with a personal-record time of 23.04 seconds. Nick Marais won the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches, and Damon Bird won the 800-meter at 2:03.64.
Zoe Delaney of Winnett-Grass Range took first place in four events, including a personal record of 2:22.38 in the 800-meter dash, a race she just added this season.
