BELGRADE — Belgrade High School is sending another athlete to the next level.
Cynthia Smith is heading to Lewis-Clark State College in the fall to run track. The senior currently pole vaults for the Panthers and will be studying to become an athletic trainer.
“I was looking at schools and then found this one,” Smith said about Lewis-Clark. “I contacted the coach, and everything he was saying about the school I thought it would be a good home for me.”
The coach even reminded her of home.
“He came off as my coach that I have in school here, so I just liked that about him,” she said. “They do a lot of community work and a lot of charity work, so I really like that they do that. While I was visiting the campus everyone just looked really happy to be there.”
