KALISPELL — Whitefish sprinter Lee Walburn and Polson distance runner Bea Frissell had spectacular times on Tuesday afternoon at the Kalispell Time Trial Invite.

Walburn picked up a pair of victories against the stacked field, winning the 110-meter hurdles in 15.57 seconds and holding off Kalispell Glacier’s Drew Deck (15.74). Walburn also won the 400-meter dash in 51.86. Walburn has already qualified in the hurdles, but this represents a season-best time. His 400 just missed the Class A qualifying standard of 51.7.

Also of note, Kalispell Flathead’s Chance Sheldon-Allen won the 100-meter dash in 11.12 seconds to become the first Class AA sprinter to qualify for the state meet in the 100.

Polson’s Bea Frissell cruised to victories in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Frissell won both at last spring’s State A meet. She won the 1,600 in 5 minutes, 27.79 seconds and the 3,200 and 11:24.59. Both times hit the Class A state qualifying standard.
