BOZEMAN — The Bozeman track field team is off to a great start to the season. After hosting eight area schools on Wednesday in the first meet of the year, the Hawks came out with high marks, including a sweep of both the boys and girls titles.

This Saturday, Bozeman will head to Billings Skyview where it will see its fair share of Class AA competition. But with the returning talent, head coach Eric Fisher is hopeful the team should fare pretty well as the season progresses.

“We lost a lot of talented athletes, a lot of leadership from that team from last year, but we bring a lot of quality athletes back, a lot of leadership back,” he said. “We’re at the point now where we have a big enough program, an established program, that we just kind of get to reload each year and have new people step up.”

“We’re looking at every area just to be competitive, especially earlier in the year just to get improving on their marks each meet, each race. Just that drive to improve each time they step on the track,” he finished.
