GREAT FALLS — The Great Falls High Bison softball team went into Thursday’s crosstown matchup with Great Falls CMR looking to extend its 33-game win streak, but the Rustlers had other plans.

Great Falls High looked good early, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning. But the Rustlers responded with an offensive onslaught in the second, putting up 10 runs. CMR would add three more in the third to go up 13-3, but Bison junior Anna Toon responded with a three-run homer in the fourth.

Great Falls High continued to scrap, adding two more runs, but CMR junior pitcher Madi Moore would shut them down when it mattered most, sealing the 13-8 upset victory.

“I honestly just focused on my spin and I just kept doing what I was doing and I felt confident the whole time,” Moore said. “I definitely had my team behind me and I helped them out, so I think it was a very good game for us.”

The win brings CMR to 8-4 on the season, while Great Falls High goes to 11-1.
